Planning ahead for a Waiheke trip? Here's the short version: our current timetable runs through 18 October 2026, and from 19 October 2026 we switch over to our summer timetable, which brings extra sailings for the fuller season ahead. Below is the full breakdown so you can lock in your dates with confidence.

Current timetable (now through 18 October 2026)
Island Direct is currently running up to 29 sailings a day between Pier 13, Downtown Ferry Terminal, Auckland and Pier 3, Matiatia Wharf, Waiheke. Crossing time is around 35–45 minutes, weather depending.

What changes on 19 October 2026?
From 19 October 2026, our summer timetable takes over with more sailings across the week. Great news if you're planning a spring or summer trip, especially on days that currently run a lighter schedule. We're finalising the exact summer sailing times now, so keep an eye on our live timetable page closer to the date, or sign up for our island news so you hear it first.
Booking Tips
You can book online in advance to guarantee your sailing time, or walk up and grab a ticket from the Hub next to Pier 13 or the kiosk before you board. Booking ahead is especially worth it for weekends, public holidays, and anything in that first flush of summer travel.
