Here at Island Direct, we have a pretty simple mission: to get you out of the everyday and onto the island. We live for that feeling—the salt spray on the window, the skyline of Auckland fading behind you, and the promise of an adventure waiting just across the water.

So, you can probably imagine why we are absolutely thrilled to be supporting the 2026 Waiheke Walking Festival!

An Island Made for Walking

From 20 March to 5 April 2026, Waiheke Island becomes a walker’s wonderland. The Waiheke Walking Festival isn't just about exercise; it's a two-week-long celebration of the great outdoors. It’s about kicking off your jandals (well, maybe keep your walking shoes on!) and discovering why this place is so special.

We're talking about:

• Clifftop trails with views that stretch all the way to the Coromandel.

• Secret bush walks through ancient pōhutukawa.

• Guided adventures where you'll learn the stories behind the stunning scenery.

• Finishing your walk at a vineyard because, let’s be honest, you’ve earned that glass of wine.

Whether you're a seasoned tramper or just love a good wander, there’s a trail with your name on it.

As a ferry company, we’re in the business of connections. We connect people to places, to new experiences, and to each other. We love the outdoors, and we know that some of the best conversations and memories happen when you're out in nature, with the sun on your face.
