Island Direct Set To Introduce Adjusted Timetable for Winter 2024
Island Direct is pleased to announce the Winter 2024 timetable, effective Monday, 13 May 2024. This update comes as a direct response to the valuable data received from over 780 customer survey responses. The responses highlighted the need for adjusted service times, particularly in the evenings, to give passengers additional travel times to what is currently offered. These changes are designed to better accommodate the schedules of our passengers travelling between Waiheke Island and Auckland.
“Our decision to update the evening services stems from a clear message from our community, stated David Todd, Co-Founder, Island Direct. “Our passengers expressed a need for additional, convenient sailings during service gaps in the evening, and we are proud to respond to this need.”
While we have tried to minimise disruption to frequent travellers, we understand any change can impact our passengers. We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible and are dedicated to continuing our tradition of excellent customer service. Island Direct remains committed to providing high-quality reliable ferry services and thanks all passengers for their support to date and the feedback which has been instrumental in shaping these services changes.
In addition to adjusting evening services, Island Direct is thrilled to secure consistent timings across all days of the week. This means that weekend sailings will now run on the same schedule as weekday sailings, providing passengers with increased consistence in their travel plans.
The new timetable, effective May 13, is now available for online booking at islanddirect.co.nz, providing an easy and convenient way to plan your travel in advance. Alternatively, customers can walk-up for any service and purchase tickets directly from our crew when boarding, ensuring flexibility and ease of access for all travellers. We encourage all passengers to review the new sailing times and thank them in advance for their understanding.
