Island Direct Joins AT HOP Network

Island Direct is thrilled to announce its integration with Auckland Transport's AT HOP network, adding even more convenience and flexibility for our ferry passengers traveling between Auckland and Waiheke Island.

Passengers can now tag on and off with an AT HOP card for a smooth and familiar way to pay. Our integration with the AT HOP network provides greater choice and accessibility for both Aucklanders and Waiheke residents, making ferry travel even easier and more convenient.

As part of joining the network, Island Direct passengers can now enjoy the AT HOP Monthly Pass, which offers unlimited travel on Waiheke ferry services and connects seamlessly with buses and trains within the same fare zone. This pass is a great option for frequent travellers looking for an easy, cost-effective way to move across the Auckland transport network.

In addition to AT HOP, passengers travelling on standard adult fares can also tag on and off using contactless payment options like Apple Pay, Google Pay, debit, and credit cards. Now, boarding our ferries is as simple as a tap of your smartphone or smartwatch.

David Todd, Director of Island Direct, says, "We’re committed to making travel between Auckland and Waiheke as seamless as possible. The addition of AT HOP and contactless payment options is another step in making ferry travel easy and hassle-free."

Cath Handley, Chair of the Waiheke Island Local Board, highlighted this advancement, calling it a "game changer" that brings flexibility and choice for locals and visitors alike.
