From March 21 to April 6, the island will come alive with a spectacular lineup of walks designed to showcase the best of Waiheke. A Few Walks You Don't Want To Miss

MAKE TRACKS Man O’War Magic

This enchanting walk over private land is sure to impress. Prepare to be amazed by cascading waterfalls, lush orchards, olive groves, and beautifully restored native forests. Rated 7/10 for difficulty, expect unformed tracks, narrow or muddy stretches, and some steep sections—but it’s worth every step.

ISLAND DIRECT Wisca Dog Walk – Heart of Omiha

Calling all dog lovers! Join us for a tail-wagging adventure through the scenic tracks of Omiha. A friendly reminder—Dogs must be kept on a lead to protect the precious wildlife like Korora burrows and Kaka nests in the area. PSA: Dogs travel free on Island Direct ferries and Waiheke Island buses.

Best of Te Ara Hura – Palm Beach to Matiatia

Enjoy breathtaking coastal views as you explore this 10km section of the famous Te Ara Hura trail. With panoramic headland views and pristine sandy beaches, it’s a must-do experience for lovers of the great outdoors. Rated 7/10 for difficulty, be prepared for some tricky terrain and steep hills—but the views are more than worth it.

Waiheke Walking Festival Finale 2025

Join the celebration at Batch Winery as we wrap up the 14th annual Waiheke Walking Festival and mark the 10th anniversary of the beloved Te Ara Hura. Expect a festive atmosphere, delicious wine, and mouthwatering platters. Your ticket includes entry, shared platters, and two drinks (wine, beer, or soft drinks).
